yeah, designed them myself and a guy from work cnc's them for me. all the other ff options on the market are kinda garbage.

eventually i'll be cnc-ing myself, as well as anodizing/plating myself. within the next year or two

Why on Earth anyone would tear apart a Gibby like this is beyond me. That all happened in the 80's so I guess the owner at that time did not place much value in it. This one has and will carry a pretty cool back story so we will get to more of that a bit later...

New project. First fanned fret, first ebony board, first time working with figured maple. Looking forward to it, but it will probably be a pretty slow build.

Fitted the Schaller trem (had to route out the stock Strat cavity a bit), then wet sanded and buffed this one out:

Not guitar related, well sorta, it is made from "tone wood." That still counts rignt? :thumb:

Think I am gonna start a new tradition by making a different one of these every year. This being the first, was really going for that "handmade" look. That AND being sorta rushed to get it done before my wife got home.

The idea is that the holes will let the lights from the tree shine through, or maybe it will just look like Swiss cheese hanging there. Next time I'll use the right tools for the job. Word is that Santa's bringing me a new Dremel to go with my router jig. Who knows, binding, pearl inlays, maybe a burst... endless possibilities. Already thinking a laminated bell trussrod cover with the year inlaid with pearl for next year. :hmm:
