Awaiting a toggle(will drill a new hole between knobs) and a rewiring, but she's pretty much done. HUGE pics for detail. :)

Thank you very much, fellas. I've been having a flippin blast playing her. I finished her at the perfect time and was able to get a rehearsal in(as well as frequent playing) on this guitar. She's survived 3 outings already and hasn't shifted. The neck has this beautiful relief that made the perfect action for me, but there is the faintest hint of a buzz. It's so slight that it doesn't affect the amplified tone, but it is there. I'll be doing a fret level and recrown when I can either figure out a cheap way to do it, or get the money to get the tools to do so.

I'll do that after the show this weekend. I don't want anything to go wrong before then. I've got to redo the wiring for the switch in the meantime.

I'll enjoy it for about a week, and it's on to my 2nd build! I'm learning from what I did wrong on this build. I love maple, but efffff...I used too much on this build. Zero contrast unless you're looking at it from behind.

I really dig the shit out of Alex's walnut tops. I want to do a dark top with an ash or black limba body. For the dark top, I think I'd prefer some figured claro. Neck and fretboard are still undecided. I did see some B&W ebony at Woodcraft that was really tempting me.

I'll most likely do one more oil finish, then take a stab at spraying the 3rd or 4th build.

The 2nd build is going to be by the numbers. I'm logging all my hours, and I've streamlined a process that I think will maximize efficiency. I wasted a lot of time scratching my head on this build, but now I've got the templates, and an idear of what methods work for me.

It sounds a lot like work, but I'm kind of an efficiency buff. I enjoy knowing I'm not wasting time when I'm in my shop. That was one reason for this excessively detailed and heavily photographed build...I wanted a road map.

Nice! Alex's designs are awesome and inspire me a lot. Have you tried working with walnut yet? It's one of my favorite woods.

On efficiency, I hear you. After the Knightro JR prototype and the complete first one, I feel like I've got a much better idea of how I like to tackle processes.

Got me a black toggle and 2 500K pots. Gotta grab myself a spool of 22ga wire in the morning and wire her up!

Well, she passed the live test with flying colors. Including the practices for this show, I played her through a JCM800, a JCM2000, a block 5150, and a Mesa Road King. She sounded incredible through each amp. I had a lot of fun showing her off. With this behind me, I can focus on my next build.

Here's a couple pics from the night.

    Your band is very....odd.

And your guitar is very cool.

Hahaha. That's a pickup group of local musicians. I wouldn't mind being in a band with any one of them though. Esp that fiddle player. She's flippin amazing.

    We were playing this song:

    Tread lightly, sir! :realmad:

That song and Foreigner's Juke Box Hero are the 2 reasons I play guitar! :D

DUDE! You can't post a band pic like that without some video footage! Smokin' hot fiddle player chic and Dave Grohl look-a-like front man?!?! You're killing me, I don't care if if was that goofy song from the 70s. Let's here the audio from the gig! (please):D

There is video from the show, but sadly it's all on Facebook and can't be linked externally....unless I'm doing something wrong. No footage of hot fiddle player either :(

If you're on the Book of Faces, add me and you can check out vids.
