Lots of questions about placement of pickups. How to get the most out of pickups, specifically Nazgûl and Sentient pickups. Is it ratio dependent or is it all based on distance from the bridge. Email me if you are willing to help

I usually put the bridge pickup rout about 1/2" from the bridge saddles and i always put the neck pickup up against the end of the fretboard.

    Welcome .
When possible , placement over a harmonic/nodal point is a good place .
This is a part of why 24 , 26 fret etc necked guitars tend to be so sterile in the neck position .
They have a fretboard where a pickup should be located .
I almost forgot . Under the strings is highly recommended .

Surely the harmonic/nodal point will change with every different fretted note and therefore only be relevant on an open string?

I had a customer many years ago who wanted a guitar built with a bridge and middle pickup but NO neck pickup. He gave very precise specs as to where he wanted the middle pickup located. All this was based on the extensive research he had done. The result was nothing earth shattering to me, but he was very happy! Here's a little light reading on the subject :hmm: ...

Response Effects of Guitar Pickup Position and Width

So it makes no difference where pickups are placed .

Neck pickup against the fretboard end of course. I once checked the bridge pup position on quite some guitars and calculated the average. I ended up with this:

The center of the bridge pickup is placed at around 93,3% of the scale length.

EDIT: That's NO rule! I'm just saying. It always depends on your personal taste of course.
