Can I agree on the satin look too? Looks fabulous, Knarbens.
It's not my guitar aaaand it is high gloss
just looked at your wenge top model.
OMG seeing that wenge top makes me feel like i have splinters in my hands. I like wenge, but its a love/hate thing. its hard for me to not grain fill that stuff too, its got like canyons in it! LOL
Some more progress on this guitar ... shaped the bevels yesterday. They came out really well without any additional sanding. Also some nice kinda flame showed up in the limba at the arm contour.
Finally, after one year in the making ... it's done.
new to this thread but great work, my jaw just dropped
FYI, I was flipping through this thread with my 10-year-old daughter in my office and when I got to the finished photos she spontaneously said "Ooh!" because she liked it. And this is a kid who pays no attention to guitars at all. So it's a home run, Knarben!
Very, very, nice! Lot's of attention to detail, time well spent no matter how long it took.
Great final product! If I may ask, what finish did you use?
Thanks! It's all finished with Danish Oil.
I truly like the "exhaust" part! \m/ Must steal the idea =)
And your attention for those crisp edges. A work of art!
Excellent work! By the way, what did you select for fingerboard wood?
It's Indian Rosewood. Nothing special Looks a bit reddish though ...
Can you give some more details on the controls, wiring, output connections?
Wow. Love that one.
wow i havent been here in a while but god damn thats hot.
Knarbens, where did you get those knobs? they look so nice
Well, that's some special stuff! I'm the woodworker so I can not help you with much details. There's a piezo on/off + piezo volume push/pull and a coilsplit + magnetic volume push/pull poti, a 12-way rotary switch that does change something and two output jacks for headphone from guitar playing or something ^^ Oh, and a three way toggle switch of course.
These are Schaller poti knobs. It's the "satin pearl" finish.
So finally we finished the #1 makeover. It features a Schaller Flagship and piezo saddles.
Damn! That's gorgeous! (all of your work is very smart and clean)
