I edited my post - now I got the picture up Hello, you will have to click the link at the bottom, I just registered, I've designed lots of guitars but never built any, this is one of my designs I would like to share, If your interested, building it, since my computer distorts the size of graphics, the guitar design may look a little off on your monitor, you will have to make sure the guitars dimensions are accurate and play around with it a bit and for it to look good, (I tried to get the guitars dimensions accurate as I could) link to download the image templates_1 - Download - 4shared
yeah, I thought of that too, here is the guitar design, I thought my photo hosting website I'm signed up with didn't allow direct linking to photos but you can, here it is, I have many more too, hope some people like it
Check the proportions..in real size that would be a 45 cms wide guitar on the cutaway . Also make sure the bottom shape of the body is not uncomfortable to the right arm, if so, add some contour.. I suggest using eshopmachine or any vectorial draw softwar to play with the shapes and proportions until it feels right to you.
There is a way to offer a critique that is neither disrespectful nor discouraging. That wasn't the way.
The thing about guitar shapes is that you can do anything you like. It doesn't have to please anyone but you. When I come up with a design that I want to try to market I draw up as many as I can. I let them sit for a few days & I go back to them. I edit/draw some more & keep this up until I'm happy. If I design/build it for me, I don't give 2 $*%^$ what people think
^^^ this.. MOST new guitar designs are never going to be viable to sell to the public.. So design for yourself and IF you get lucky. then a design Might make you a small living...
you´re right, i assumed the op wanted an opinion, while he was just sharing his design..if he likes it, then say nothing..like everyone else did..
Even if he were asking for an opinion, there's a way to do so in a positive, constructive manner. Sully
I like that deep curve on the top of the waist, not sure if that's the proper term, that's just what I've always called it. I like to lean over my guitar a bit when I play and that looks comfy to me.
Very unique, indeed. I get a sense of flowing fire from it. Like, almost flame shapes in the horn and hips. Very cool.
