Hi all, ive built classical and ss guitars and I mostly used quarter sawn timber. I'm about to start a LP build, do you guys normally use quarter sawn for the body and cap or just the neck, thanks,,Paul.
neck usually i choose quartersawn woods. body and stuff it doesnt matter. I just go for looks for the guitar body and esp the top.
Well if luthiers paid any attention to the tried and true centuries old, "golden rules of cabinetmaking and joinery", all bodies that had caps on them would be quartered, but no worries they don't and they seem to get away with it...
