The supermassive P90 from BKP does chug like a mother but the P90 chug and the humbucker chug just FEELS different. both i like but i've grown up on the humbucker and it just feels great right now.

"Knarbens" and "quality bevel" has become synonymous in my mind. I've even chanted "Knarbens" while carving my bevels to channel the magic. It works.

The guitar sounds great, but I really dig the bass tone in that clip. You make me want to ship you some of my shit to get un-embarassing clips.

As thanks man! No one ever comments on the bass tone!

If you'd like i'd be glad to run any DI files you might have through my signal chain since it's all software based. I just run DI myself. Just PM me and I'd be glad to help out

Alrighty time to update on the progress of the two commissions as well as the third imbuya build which i want, but which will also be up for sale if someone wants it too. Aaron's making some awesome pickups for Rogers quilted maple build as well as the imbuya/ korina build. Im gonna get all bodies to the same stage of the build process and then begin the neck building all at once.

    Here's some pics!

    Here's ganesh's build in progress
His will be receiving the 28.8 scale indian rosewood board. The other 30 scale will be for a special project.

Here's Rogers build progress. Top is cut out and ready to be glued, the walnut body is being hollowed out. Im buying new tools because most are dull and i require some good stuff so nothing chips out.

    Some Neck Blanks

Now the Imbuya build. Body is korina from Gilmer. I bound this with ivoroid and some tips from Aaron Brown. It turned out well and the mitre'd joints are barely visible after glued. For my first time this worked out swimmingly. I intend to give this the Knarben bevel treatment as well and have the binding blend neatly into it kinda like a bound blackmachine guitar only not so overused. its receiving a ziricote fretboard scaled at 26 as my usual. It will be bound as well. (i think, thoughts?). The neck will be solid roasted maple.
The pickups were discussed with aaron brown and should be really cool once completed.

Alex, I love your work. Your designs are brilliant, your wood selections are gorgeous, and even your photos are great. Also your samples and playing are really very good.

So, basically, I hate you. :yesway:

honestly i gotta say these new designs are all credited to you for that wonderful tutorial on emachineshop. seriously though its changed EVERYTHING for me. the way i think, the way i work. This forum has furthered my hobby by years. I've had some of the most wonderful advice from luthiers here who love what they do. The environment here is one of learning and so i credit a lot of my progress to everyone here whos ever commented. I try thanking people whenever its due. Sometimes i forget though.

Thanks for the kind words though. I am really proud of the progress i've made and the way things are looking. I also have got to thank Evolved_Insanity/Jon for the incredible woods hes sent me. Seriously hes got such a unique arsenal. Jon, if youre reading this, Thank you too.

At first when i received this top i didnt think too much of it. it was nice sure. but paled in comparison to its more extravagantly figured counterparts. Now that i have it bound and sanded to 100, i realize that this wood is extremely complex. It has many different patters, all very attractive. Burls at the bottom, radiating grain lines in a radiating/chevron pattern, and some featherish crotch flame. Its really gonna look good with some odies oil and wax. Im pretty sold on it since the last build.

Here's a video of the last Roasted Maple Build
Here's a video i uploaded to facebook, not sure how well it'll show up but here goes.
