Nice! That TYR song is epic, never heard it before =)

Here's another good one...one of my favourite songs. Acoustic version!

    It's Kalevala Day today.
And Amorphis are in town. :metal:

Here's some re-recorded (current lineup) versions of the old songs from the times when the band based their lyrics on the Finnish national epic.

I love their newer stuff, but that may be because I've gravitated away from death metal. Same with Opeth. Love the last few albums, the early ones not so much.

I'd love to see Amorphis if/when they come to the States.

Not sure I'm qualified to post in this thread since I haven't started my first build yet. I love metal but I'm not sure I could concentrate with Nile or Cryptopsy blasting away at 30000bpm. I'm more of a melodic death metal guy anyway, At the Gates, The Haunted, In Flames, Soilwork, Mercenary, Darkthrone, etc. But if anything I could envision myself putting something smooth and backgroundy like Chillout or Downtempo, something without anyone talking or singing.

Thank you guys for mentioning Amon Amarth, I haven't listened to them since high school and I have no idea why.

I am preparing for my first build, getting my templates inorder. Takes awhile as I only have a jig saw and a belt sander, but trying to layout templates for jigs that will help me in the build.

The music is a lot different than what ya'll listen to, and probably shows my age. I have various mixed artist playlists which currently include the following:

    Little Feat
    Rory Gallagher
    Rancid
    Kentucky Headhunters
    SRV
    Black Crowes
    Joe Ely
    The Specials
    Tommy Bolin
    Montrose
    Chris Whitley
    Hollywood Fats
    Early Ted Nugent
    Blues Traveler
    the Blues Project
    the Gourds

Well, looks like next weekend will be loud. I'm going to Dallas to see Behemoth, Goatwhore, 1349, Inquisition, Black Crown Initiate on Friday, and then Reverend Horton Heat, Nekromantix, and Deke Dickerson on Saturday.

    Should be an interesting time.
