I'm looking at push/pull pots and I have no idea which ones are good and which are junk. Choices so far: DiMarzio, CTS, Bourns, Allpha, and no-names. Any good or bad experiences with any of those? I put CTS pots (regular ones) in my first build and I would like to find one with more turning resistance if possible.
i hate regular CTS, bournes are really good quality, but i don't like how loose they feel when turning. Good if you do lots of swells with a volume knob though. Alpha are alright, but almost feel too tight (same with the chepies i've used, VERY smooth, but better for pedals because of the amount of friction) So far Emerson Pro CTS has the best feel to me, not sure if they offer push/pull though, they also don't have mini versions yet. edit: so atm i use alpha for my push/pull or push/push pots. I'll switch over to emerson once they offer mini's, since most of my control cavities are pretty tight.
you push on it and it pops up. then you push on it again and it stays down. i like them 100% more than push pulls. easier to activate while playing
I didn't even know those existed! I also never heard of the Emerson Pro CTS pots until now. Thank you, Jay!
