    did some neck work yesterday.......

staining yet another flame maple board. yep, the guy saw the other and decided one of his necks should look like that! here it is stained and not wiped back down with thinner yet to leave the stain darker in just the end grain areas. this is a 24 fret 25" scale.

    and here it is cleared

    shaping the back of #2

    shaping the volute and heel

compound radius, 10-14 on this one

birdseye f/b on this one, just getting clear, no stain.

This was a Slash signature Les Paul I fixed this week. The back had some damage and tons of belt buckle rash. The damage near the control cavity isn't perfect but it's MUCH better than it was before. There was another chip on the other side of the lower bout that I didn't fix, but I did clear it to protect the wood. Did a lot of drop filling and spot spraying to fix this one.

Nice jim-e! Those things look great, I've never seen anyone make their own plastic pickup rings before, only wood :D Super cool.

Nudder one :) Alnico-V, haven't checked the output yet but I expect around 7.5k.

Nice Jay! Love that ziricote...I have a feeling I know where you got it :p

Finished working on this handplane over the weekend, it will ship out as soon as the post office opens Monday morning. Used it to clean up the top of a Les Paul Replica that I'm working on. Left half is as it was before - right half is after planing.

I really need to stop selling my handplanes...I don't own one now haha, sold them all.

Here's an Ash USA Tele body I refinished (well did everything except the color coats), someone had hogged it out with a rusty butter knife to fit humbuckers so I filled them and rerouted them.
I also refinished this 58(?) Tele neck for another customer. Had to patch a small bit on the edge of the fretboard but overall it was pretty simple. Left the date on the heel alone.

this one is the John Mayer "Black one" relic that My Bro-in-law Will Fix ( yes, that IS his real name) and I are working on jointly.

Got an SRV relic in the works as well. Plus the "51 P-bass.

First guitar to cross my garage bench. 2004 Mexican Strat.

Swapping pickguard, replacing electronics (though not pickups), replaced tuners (stock replacements in better condition), saddles, string tree, nut, and leveling the frets. Also general cleanup, then it goes up for sale.

New CTS posts, new switch, new output jack/jack plate, and copper shielding is done. Not much more work left on this one, probably have it done over the weekend.
