I'm doing my first complete restoration. It's on my old Guild D 40 that was a wreck. I'm taking it step by step. Watching hunderds of youtube videos andverything is going great. But I have one question. I'm getting ready to stain/dye the back and sides. And I've ordered the lacquer. I'm looking at overall and thinking the spruce top could use a little lightening. I was wondering if that could be accomplished by using the Kinsers bleach and would it damage the wood. I can definately live without making it lighter but it would probably look a little better as long as there is no down side. Thank you in advance for any thoughts. j

using a bleach in a liguid or jell form will probly make the wood fibers weaker. you might try mr clean eraser. our set it in sunlight for a while.
