First post! I have an old explorer type body that I’d like to convert from a tremolo style bridge system to a tune-O-matic style bridge and tailpiece. The cavities from tremolo style make placing a TOM bridge impossible. I planned on routing out a 4 inch wide section of the guitar from the top to bottom and attaching a 4 inch wide section of left over maple then rerouting the pick up cavities and neck pocket and having a solid section for the tune o matic. I’m not sure if I’m explaining this real well so I’ll attach a picture that will further confuse people but hopefully get some advice if this would work. I can’t upload a pic from my phone if someone can help with that too..... sorry
Ok one problem solved... Ok so the section inside the tape is what I wanted to remove. Maybe an inch deep and then glue a section of the maple into it.
