    Your link won't work for me , but the 2 video clips do work .
    What the 2 video clips tend not to show is how random the movements in the strings are in relationship to the plane of their length .

    I've seen a guitar made out of a cement block as an experiment to prove how good a particular pickup was. It didn't sound terrible, but looked hideous. My guess is the kind of wood used for solid body guitars probably only accounts for about 5% of the overall tone when compared to all the other components. Acoustic guitars are a whole other story. Maple sounds different than rosewood, etc. etc.
