    Hi fellow luthiers,

Just wondering if anyone has successfully converted a right handed acoustic guitar with a cutaway to a left hander. I have a student who received a right handed guitar as a gift but is left handed. The manufacturers don't make a LH model and she is very emotionally attached to the gift because of the giver. All the usual changes are doable but does the cutaway make it an impossible task???

I would think restring and get a reverse bridge for intonation. As far as making into a left with a cut away, there would be a huge undertaking probably making the instrument more susceptible to wear.

You'll need to change the nut and reverse the rake of the saddle.
