Amps For Setups

    Hi everybody

    I would be happy if you could explain what features are important when choosing an amp for testing pickups during setups and new builds, furthermore it would be great if you'll recommend specific models. Thank you.

    I use a mini amp for testing. You don’t really to do anything but make sure volume and tone work on the guitar (pickups) and test for ground. You can get the mini amps for 30-120 bucks depending on what your flavor is and they run of 9v batteries or you can get a power supply too. No reason to go crazy on a bench (test) amp. Me personally, I play mostly through a HoTone Mojo with headphones and that used was $45 and has the capability to be used as a head for a speaker.

    I use a Fender G-DEC 3 on a clean setting
