'78 les paul has a pancake body? looks like it

    I always thought the norlin pancake ended around '77 ? but mine sure looks like it has that thin middle layer, making it a norlin era 3 ply body.....the thin layer is placed right under the maple cap. Whereas previous norlin era pancakes had that thin layer in between two pieces mahogany....this guitar has one piece mahogany. So doesn't make sense why they'd add that 2mm layer in there....?

    Looks like something in between that Maple Mahogany.
